Audio: Share the most embarrassing song on your mp3 player.
Well, I'm not particularly embarassed by any of them, but here's a guilty pleasure:
What were your top 10 favorite songs or albums of 2007?
I'd actually been working on a "Songs Of 2007" playlist even before this question popped up. Here's the first draft:
A few comments / explanations:
#3 - This song was in my head for about three weeks after the first time I heard it. So I bought the CD, which was one of the first CDs I'd bought in years - not so many Virgin Megastores in the crazy places I'd been living overseas. (Though I don't shop at Virgin Megastore now, either. Support your local record store!) So it's signficant both for being a song I love and for marking the rebeginnings of me actually listening to and knowing about music, something I always loved.
#4 - I bought Brandi Carlile's "The Story" never having heard it, just because it had garnered so much acclaim and because I knew that people who liked other bands I like also liked that CD. Late Morning Lullaby is the first song on the album - and I almost never heard the other tracks because I instantly put this one on repeat. I'm also going to put it here so you can hear it.
#7 - Listened to this obsessively while riding the subways in New York earlier this month.
#8 - Hearing Patti sing this live - in the rain - and also getting to photograph the concert... one of the best evenings of this summer.
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?

There were two, actually, bought at the same time:

Seattle is the kind of place where you find the new Eddie Vedder on the "local bands" shelf, so it's kind of hard to choose. And since these guys are technically from Tacoma, I'm not even sure they reeaalleeee count... but I don't care.

Mmm hmm. Oh yeah.
